Acts of Caring
Acts of Caring Committee
The Acts of Caring Committee brings Mishkan members together virtually, spiritually — and sometimes physically — to share in members’ life-cycle events and to offer help in times of need.
Acts of Caring has two components:
- A moderated listserv sent to all Mishkan members to share news of happy and sad events and to ask for prayers or help in times of illness or other need.
- A voluntary direct services support network known as Hineni (Here I am). Acts of Caring coordinators work with congregants to identify needs and then to meet those needs via a web-based volunteer site.
Our bimonthly Kol Shalom column notifies the congregation of upcoming simchas and recent life cycle news, and maintains a list of both congregants and their loved ones for ongoing prayers for healing.
Connecting With Acts of Caring
To notify the G'milut Hasadim/Acts of Caring committee of a life-cycle event, or to suggest or request services through Hineni, please email actsofcaring@mishkan.org.

Kedmah excavates the power and beauty of Mizrahi Jewish expression through ancient poetry and song. Their debut album, Simu Lev, was released in April 2024 on Rising Song Records. Led by Yoni Battat & Rabbi Yosef Goldman, Kedmah invites listeners to experience the spiritual and emotional depth of Middle Eastern piyyut (liturgical poetry) and the traditional Arab melodies that adorn them. We will close out Shabbat Shirah, the shabbat of song, with Kedmah in concert at Kol Tzedek. Co-sponsored by Let My People Sing!, Tribe12, Mishkan Shalom, and the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. For more info and tickets: https://events.humanitix.com/simu-lev-kedmah-kol-tzedek -

Awakening to Earth’s Call through Soul Collage offers a quiet afternoon gathering of intuition-driven creativity, informed by the season and the moment in the Jewish year. Our theme for this brightening time of year is “Listen to the Trees”. Participants assemble collages from Mishkan’s collection of visual images; journaling and sharing allow the collages to unfold their personal meaning. SoulCollage© facilitator Francesca Cantarini will lead our session. -
